[Washington, D.C.] – [July 20 , 2026] – Internet Works has been awarded the American Society of Association Executives’ (ASAE) Power of Associations Silver Award for its advocacy program, Right-Sizing Tech Policy: A New Blueprint for Advancing Online Safety and Preserving the Open Internet.

For too long, the tech policy landscape has focused on the largest technology companies, resulting in broad, one-size-fits all regulations that disproportionately burden “Middle Tech” platforms that millions of Americans use to grow small businesses, find jobs, and build communities.  In response, Internet Works launched a first-of-its- kind program that has transformed the fragmented Middle Tech sector of the industry into a proactive coalition advancing tech policy.

“We are incredibly honored to receive the ASAE Power of Associations Silver Award,” said Peter Chandler, Executive Director of Internet Works.  “This recognition not only shows that the tech industry is not a monolith, but also affirms the need for medium-sized platforms to have a seat at the policymaking table.  Middle Tech companies are the engines of the open Internet, and by working collaboratively with lawmakers, we have shown that smart policies can keep users safe while protecting innovation.”

Thank you to ASAE for this recognition of Internet Works’ efforts to go above and beyond our mission to continue supporting the millions of Americans who rely on the Internet every day to build communities, grow small businesses, and so much more.
