Leading workplace collaboration platform joins coalition of medium-sized tech companies advocating for right-sized technology policy

[Washington, D.C.] [September 30, 2026] — Internet Works, the leading trade association representing Middle Tech companies, today announced that AI-first video communications platform Zoom has joined as its newest member company.

As a global leader in AI-powered workplace collaboration and seamless digital communication, Zoom strengthens Internet Works’ mission to advance right-sized, pro-innovation tech policy and ensure that medium-sized technology platforms have a dedicated voice in federal and state policy debates.

“We are thrilled to welcome Zoom to Internet Works,” said Peter Chandler, Executive Director of Internet Works. “Zoom has fundamentally transformed how enterprises, small businesses, schools, and organizations connect and collaborate every day. As lawmakers address critical policy issues ranging from artificial intelligence and privacy to digital competition and online trust and safety, Zoom’s technical expertise and commitment to user security will be invaluable to our coalition’s work in advocating for smart, right-sized rules.”

“We are proud to join Internet Works alongside fellow Middle Tech leaders,” said Josh Kallmer, Zoom Chief Global Affairs Officer. “At Zoom, we’re focused on helping people work smarter with AI, making collaboration more seamless, and enhancing how organizations deliver customer experience. We look forward to advocating for pragmatic technology policies that foster innovation, protect user privacy, and ensure a competitive and open internet ecosystem.”

Internet Works represents Middle Tech companies—platforms that are more established than early-stage startups but operate at a significantly different scale and resource level than dominant gatekeeper platforms. The association focuses on advancing policies that foster competition, safeguard free expression, and right-size compliance burdens for medium-sized tech companies.
