[Washington, D.C.] – [May 5, 2026] – Today, Internet Works’ Executive Director, Peter Chandler, has been named among the Top 500 Most Influential People Shaping Policy in 2026 by Washingtonian Magazine.
Under Peter’s leadership, Internet Works has brought Middle Tech companies into policy discussions that have often been dominated by Big Tech voices. Built by a coalition of impactful, influential companies with the support of partners in DC and around the country, IW has pushed back against “one-size-fits-all” approaches to policy that risk disproportionately impacting these platforms and stifling innovation. Internet Works’ membership has grown by 50% in just over a year, and the association continues to define the Middle Tech narrative and shape state and federal legislation.
Millions of Americans rely on Middle Tech platforms to grow small businesses, find new jobs, book vacations, connect with neighbors, discover local restaurants, or shop online. Working closely with member companies, Peter has taken that message from the United States Capitol to state capitals across the country.
Peter was selected by the Washingtonian for his qualifications as a “deep subject-matter expertise and significant understanding of how the nation’s capital works, with the goal of getting action.”
